My Last 2 Cards

It is with great sadness that I pack up all the crafty things I brought along to Florida for the winter.  But we are snowbirds, and it is time to head back north.  It has been so nice enjoying the warmer weather here and watching the snow on the news programs rather than shoveling any of it ourselves.  On the other hand, it will be wonderful to see our family in Pennsylvania and enjoy a piece of shoo fly pie.

I've had 2 cards in my head for a while now and decided to quickly make them before we leave.

The first one is a fractured card.

They seem to be very popular right now.

And the second is a clean and simple card.

I had just a small piece of pretty butterfly vellum, which I thought would be pretty on this card.

Now that I've gotten these designs out of my head, I can go back to packing.

a new card to share with you each week for

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week's sketch is super easy,

especially if you have some nesting dies.

Here is what I made using this sketch as inspiration.

(Oops, I totally missed that strip across card.

Oh well, artistic license.)

Double Trouble Challenge #162 Spring Florals

Once again I have the pleasure of joining the family at Double Trouble Challenge as a Crazy Cousin for Challenge #162.

The theme for this challenge is "Spring Florals".

This Challenge runs from
Friday, March 15th  thru Sunday, March 31st

THING  1:  Trouble Maker
says, "As winter comes to an end in the Northern Hemisphere, perhaps you are seeing and hearing signs of spring. The longer days, the twitter of birds, and the budding of flowers help to cheer us after a cold winter. To celebrate the coming of spring, create a project using your favorite floral image."

You can stop here...
OR
play along with Twisted Sister's optional twist below to earn another chance in our random drawing.

THING  3:  Twisted Sister
says, "Since Easter is almost here, I'm reminiscing over the old song, 'In your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it'.  Memories of my collection of bonnets with all the frills upon them come to my mind. Perhaps you remember floral-laden bonnets with decorations and embellishments of bunnies, chicks, eggs, etc. My optional twist is to include an Easter element and/or bonnets or baskets with your Spring Florals project."

Optional TwistIf you have included my optional twist in your project you will earn another chance in our random drawing.

THING  2:  Double Dare
says, "If you have met Thing 1's requirement to create a Spring Floral project you are eligible to enter your project HERE at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge and you will qualify for an additional chance in our random drawing.

Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board
Beautiful Blossoms is an Anything Goes Flower / Floral challenge. A Mood Board is provided to use as an Inspiration Tool but it is not a requirement. However, your project must have flowers(s)/floral(s) as part of the design.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch for this week:

Using some patterned paper a friend recently sent me, I made this card.

This card doesn't exactly follow the sketch, but it did use up some of the scraps from the first card.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #747

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card to share with you each week for

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here's the new sketch for this week:

Our oldest grandson will be celebrating a birthday this week.    I thought I'd use this sketch to make his card.  He's in his twenties.  It's hard to wrap my mind around that fact and creating a card for him turned out to be even harder.  Finally, I switched to making a card for my friend,  Ewa, whose birthday is the next day.   Here is Ewa's card:

Then today I had this epiphany.   I knew exactly what I could do with those hexagons in the sketch.  Using dies from multiple sets, I constructed a birthday robot.

It works well with the sketch, but not for my grandson's birthday.   I'll tuck it in the box for Send a Smile 4 Kids.  Then I'll work on something for AJ.
